On Wednesday, October 12th, 2011, the Green Lake County Sheriff's E911 Center received an emergency call of a vehicle crash with injuries on Sth.23 in the Township of Brooklyn. The crash was reported to be approximately 4 miles East of Green Lake.
Green Lake County Sheriff's Deputies arrived on scene to find three vehicles involved with complete road blockage. Two individuals where trapped inside of their vehicles and required extracation. During the extracation two helicopters were summoned to the scene for emergency transport. The helicopters were ThedaStar and Flight for Life. A third injured party was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
Preliminary indications are that an east-bound Subaru car crossed the ceneterline striking a west-bound Buick Regal head on. The third vehilce, a Ford Explorer, struck debris from the initial crash.
The conditions of all injured parties are not know at this time. The Green Lake County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate this matter.
Responders to the scene include the Green Lake Brooklyn Fire and First Responders, Ripon Ambulance, Ripon Fire/Rescue, Town of Ripon Police Dept., and the Green Lake County Highway Depratment.
The names of the injured/involved will be released in the morning on Thursday, 10/13/11.
The following names are of the involved concerning the Wednesday, October 12, 2011, traffic crash on Sth.23 in Green Lake County;
1) Matthew P. Curtis, age 18, of Berlin, Wisconsin - Injured Vehicle: 1995 Subaru 4 door.
2) Melissa S. Rigo, age 23, of Ripon, Wisconsin - Injured Vehicle: 2000 Buick 4 door.
3) Vicki K. Amend, age 53, of Green Lake, Wisconsin - Injured Vehicle: 2005 Ford Explorer.
