Once again the City of Berlin Police and Green Lake Sheriff’s Office are teaming up for education and enforcement. Combined efforts have been underway and will continue involving the nationwide Click-it-or-Ticket program.
In 2009 58% of persons killed and 30% of persons sustaining incapacitating injuries in Wisconsin crashes were not wearing safety belts. Statewide safety belt use was 73.8%. In Wisconsin safety belt use still remains about 10% below the national average. Last year in Wisconsin, convictions for failure to fasten safety belts exceeded 100,000 for the first time in state history (Source: Bureau of Transportation Safety).
Please join us in promoting safe and sober operation this holiday season.
