(Booze and Belts Enforcement Campaign 2009)
Date: Monday, November 30, 2009

To Whom It May Concern:

The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the State of Wisconsin DOT “Booze and Belts” Enforcement Campaign. The program runs from December 7th until December 15th, however, the Sheriff’s Office will continue enforcement patrols throughout the holiday season.

The program strives to prevent deaths, injuries, and crashes upon our roadways by targeting seatbelt usage and impaired driving.

Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office department statistics were examined for a two year period, 2007 and 2008. Statistics revealed that there was an average of 318 arrests per year for alcohol and/or drug impaired driving for all of the combined Law Enforcement agencies of the County. During the month of December, in those same years, there was an average of 24 arrests per month for the same offenses by all in-County agencies.

Please travel safely and enjoy this holiday season responsibly; our patrols will be traveling with you.

Thank you,

Mark P. Putzke
